How to use

Prescale can measure pressure and visualize pressure range.

You can measure pressure, pressure distribution and balance. Fuji Photo Film’s advanced technologies in color film manufacturing enabled to produce extremely thin and stable Prescale to measure pressure. (Mono-sheet type: 110±5µ; two-sheet type: A-Film: 90±5µ ; C-Film:90±5µ)
Red patches appear on Prescale when pressure is applied. The color density changes according to pressure level. (Density: 0.1~1.4) Six kinds of Prescale are supplied to comply with demands to measure a wide pressure range. (0.2~300MPa.)

The entire Prescale functions as a sensor and you can see at a glance the whole pressure distribution on it.

How to use

Prescale is the only such material in the world able to measure pressure, developed by Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.
Micro-encapsulated color forming material reacts with the color developing material to produce red patches on it.

Two-sheet type
(Ultra super low ~ Medium pressure: LLLW ~ MW)

Cut two films appropriately. (A-film in black poly sack and C-film in blue poly sack)
Face the rough surfaces of each film and insert the films where you want to measure pressure. Apply pressure. Take out the films on which red patches have appeared. See and check the pressure distribution.

Mono-sheet type
(Medium, High pressure & Super High Pressure: MS, HS, HSS)

Cut a film in black poly sack appropriately. Insert the film where you want to measure pressure. Apply pressure. Take out the film on which red patches have appeared. See and check the pressure distribution

Working Principle

Structure
Mono-sheet type: The color-developing material is coated on a polyester base, with the micro-encapsulated color-forming material layered on top.

Two-sheet type: One film is coated with the micro-encapsulated color-forming material and the other film is coated with the color-developing material. Use two films facing the coated sides each other.

How it works
When pressure is applied, the microcapsules are broken and the color-forming material reacts with the color-developing material. Red patches appear on the film.
